Large marine aquariums in commercial complexes demand extremely high standards for acrylic panels in thickness, light transmission and structural pressure resistance. For this high-end commercial center project, Qiankai Acrylic fabricated a 12-meter-long, 150mm-thick monolithic acrylic panel as the main viewing wall of this giant acrylic aquarium. Made of premium cast acrylic, the panel delivers reliable safety under massive water pressure and ultra-clear viewing experience.
Unlike small household aquariums with thin panels, large standalone aquariums have to withstand continuous tremendous hydrostatic pressure from water volume. This project adopts 150mm thick cast acrylic sheet made from virgin MMA raw material. The single panel reaches 12 meters in length with no seams, effectively avoiding water leakage risks caused by joints.
As shown in our workshop photo, our workers carry out multi-stage grinding and polishing processes on the acrylic slab. Repeated fine polishing removes scratches and internal bubbles, ensuring uniform light transmission and minimal optical distortion for visitors.
Cast acrylic outperforms ordinary glass with better toughness and impact resistance, and it is easier to manufacture into oversized panels. It is the top choice for public aquariums, commercial giant fish tanks and infinity swimming pools. 150mm heavy-duty acrylic panel features outstanding hydrostatic pressure bearing capacity. It resists aging under long-term immersion and requires low maintenance.
